double the diapers, double the wipes!

Clearly, friends, I am beyond behind on my blogging lately. But, aside from other things that I need to blog about, I thought I had better get this post up before it's "too late!" My dear friend Taylor is expecting TWIN BOYS in just a few weeks (well, hopefully 5 or more weeks!). Taylor and I actually went to elementary school together, but didn't really know each other well at the time since she was a grade above me. We ran into each other again during a Nearlywed/Newlywed class at my church right before Cullen and I got married. Taylor and her husband Josh were actually married just a week after us! We have been in the same Sunday school class ever since. We have grown very close over the past three years going through all of the pre-wedding excitement, honeymoon stories, first years of marriage learning experiences, "does your husband really do that too?!" moments, starting to make major life decisions, and now having babies (ok, well, she is having babies... I am not - just to clarify). Two of our other good friends, Britney and Kim, also got married around the same time (not to each other - just to clarify, again) and have been going through this amazing stage of life as well. I grew up in church with Britney and Kim, but it's like we've all known each other forever! It's been wonderful to have such great friends going through all of these things at the same time and being able to share stories and advice.

So Britney, Kim, and I threw a "Dipe & Wipe" shower for Taylor with our Sunday School class a couple of weeks ago. She is due in mid May, but with twins you just never know how much time you'll really have! Taylor is having a couple of other showers and already has some of her big essentials, so we thought it would be helpful (and fun!) to stock her up with the things that she'll use a lot of those first few weeks - diapers and wipes!

This was my first time to do a diaper cake, and I think it turned out pretty cute! It really was a lot easier than I expected. The tips from these two websites (here and here) were especially helpful - mainly the video!

These super cute mini cupcakes came from Dreamcakes. Try not to drool too much while looking at that website!

Doesn't she look great?

This was right around 29 weeks... with that twin belly measuring 44 weeks! I give her major props for being such a "pleasant" pregnant girl and not complaing much at all. To my friends who have had babies... do you remember how miserable you were when your belly was getting close to 40 weeks?? Yeah, now imagine 44... and only just starting the 3rd trimester. (Just in case you were wondering, she is now at 31.5 weeks - measured 47 at 30, not sure about 31 - and is still doing amazingly well!) Taylor is a trooper and she's been so blessed to have such a great pregnancy! It really continues to amaze me. You're going to be a great mommy, Taylor! I can't wait to meet sweet Harrison and Jack Henry!!

Love your post Katie! I am way behind on blogging myself. Still need to put up pics of Lillian's b'day...im such a terrible mom for not doing that yet. Anyways couldn't help but laugh out loud at the "britney and kim got married but not to each other" comment. For some reason that just made me laugh really hard!
