I can't believe it's already been a year since our nephew Bennett turned one (or that in that post I thought I was "extremely delayed" in posting about his b'day party 2 weeks later! ha, this time it's 2 months later!). He's growing up so fast. I can't believe what a little person he is now. He says just about anything and everything now and has the cutest little voice. Precious little Bennett is almost always smiling. He loves to chase the kitties around our house, but his favorite of our pets is still "Gaigey" (Gainer) because she thought she was his mama for the longest time. Bennett has the sweetest temperament and spirit. He gets bossed around by his big sister a lot, but he (usually) just takes it and moves on. He seems to think she's the coolest ever. Isn't that what all younger siblings think about their older siblings (I might be speaking from personal experience!)??
This year Bennett's birthday theme was trucks & construction. He is surrounded by girly stuff way too often because of his big sister, so this boy theme was just what he needed!

He had lots of fun playing with his friends, cousins, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents!

...and her Daddy!
(She requested this one too :-))

Madelyne (who could not even reach the top of this counter when she moved into this house 2+ yrs ago...she's getting so tall!) also loves Silly Bandz. Click here if you don't know what they are. They were the hot thing around Christmas...and still are pretty popular. There are some new ones that are Christian themed called BelieverBands that were created by some guys in Birmingham - find them here. Pretty neat!
Bennett got tons of boy toys! Trucks, cars, tools, etc. etc. He LOVED it!!
Grandoc helping him figure out the motorized monster truck!
Vrrrroooom!!
My grandmother, Sissy, gave Bennett a sock monkey which he carried around with him for a good part of the rest of December. In this picture he was running up to her and making the monkey kiss her knee...then running back & laughing. So cute!
Cake time!
He just loved everyone singing to him...and sang along a little himself!! It was too cute.
Grandoc & Madelyne were trying to show Bennett how to show that he's "2" the easy way (not telling him he's a loser! ha). Clearly, all he cared about was the cake.
Bennett got a vehicle from Grandolly & Grandoc that he can drive all by himself!! Even bigger VRRROOOMMMM!
He was surprisingly good at this. It was kind of rainy outside so he had to drive it around in the garage. He maneuvered around a parked car close to the garage wall without any problems!

Bennett drove around and around and around and around in circles... until the car "needed gas." So he said. So he pulled it up to the garage door, jumped off, and ran to a completely invisible gas pump, grabbed a completely invisible nozzle, ran back to his car, held the nozzle up to the car, and filled 'er up. What an imagination! The car drove much better after being filled up with gas, just so you know.

Bennett & Mommy snuggling after everyone had left

Their sweet dog, Abbey, was pooped out from all the activity!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our precious nephew! We love you so much sweet boy! You are so happy and full of joy. Even just thinking about your cute little personality makes me smile. I'm so thankful that I get to get to spend time with you and watch you grow up. I can't wait to see the amazing things the future has to hold for you...or to spend many many more birthdays with you. Your kind heart and sweet spirit are inspiring. I hope you will always love life as much as you do right now!
