RTR!!!

Wow, what a crazy past few days it has been since I posted a week ago! I still have SO much to catch up on from the month of December, and now even more to catch up on since January begun! On Friday night, we returned from California where we went to see our Alabama Crimson Tide play in the Rose Bowl for the BCS National Championship!! What an amazing trip it was - an unforgettable experience. I just had to get in a quick post to say...

Congratulations to my alma mater, THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA, for having the #1 FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE NATION!!

What an amazing feeling it is to be National Champions! It still doesn't even feel real. Of course there will be a more detailed post with pictures to follow! The rest of the weekend we have been recouperating, unpacking, and getting things back in order since the real world will hit us square in the face tomorrow. This will be our first full week back at work since December 18 because of days off for Christmas, New Years, and the game during each of the past 3 weeks. Cullen has worked more than I have over the past few weeks, so I imagine it will be harder for me to get back than it will for him! But going back knowing that Alabama won the National Championship will make things a little better. :-)

It has been SUPER cold here for the past couple of weeks. As of today, we have had 10 consecutive days with low temperatures below freezing.... and on Jan 8, the HIGH was 26! We had one morning when we woke up with frozen pipes because we forgot to leave the water dripping (woops). Fortunately it hadn't been too long and a little hair-dryer action got them going again. My mother-in-law was not so lucky when hers froze. Nothing has worked to thaw them and she has been without water for a few days now. :-/ Other than the freezing pipes, I'm of course LOVING this weather. Actually sad that it's not going to last longer! It is supposed to warm up to the 40s & low 50s over the next week.

Alright, well, back to the grind tomorrow I suppose...which means I need to get some sleep tonight. Hopefully I'll still have some extra time to get caught up on all my pictures & posts! I take way too many pictures...but always enjoy "reliving" an experience as I go back through and work on them! (Note to self: Also owe my mom & sister a photo calendar for 2010 and still haven't gotten that done yet. That needs to go on the top of my "free time" list since we're already heading into week TWO of January.)
